Here’s an overview of the fertility care services available at our centre:
- Infertility Evaluation: A comprehensive assessment to identify possible factors affecting fertility in both partners. This may include medical history, hormonal testing, ultrasound, ovulation assessment, semen analysis, and other investigations as required.
- Ovulation Induction: Fertility medicines may be used to stimulate ovulation in women who have irregular or absent ovulation. Treatment is monitored to help determine the appropriate timing for conception or further fertility treatment.
- IUI (Intrauterine Insemination): IUI involves placing specially prepared sperm directly into the uterus around the time of ovulation. It may be recommended in selected cases of unexplained infertility, ovulation difficulties, or certain male-factor fertility issues.
- IVF (In Vitro Fertilization): IVF is an advanced assisted reproductive treatment in which eggs are retrieved from the ovaries and fertilised with sperm in a laboratory. The resulting embryos are then monitored and a suitable embryo may be transferred into the uterus.
- Egg Retrieval & Embryo Transfer: Egg retrieval is performed to collect mature eggs as part of an IVF treatment cycle. Following fertilisation and embryo development in the laboratory, an embryo may be selected and transferred into the uterus as part of the treatment plan.
- Male-Factor Infertility Evaluation & Treatment: Male fertility factors can contribute to difficulties with conception. Evaluation may include semen analysis, hormonal assessment, medical history, and other investigations where appropriate. Treatment is tailored according to the underlying cause.
- Recurrent IVF Failure: For patients who have experienced repeated unsuccessful IVF cycles, a detailed review of previous treatment may help identify factors that could be contributing to unsuccessful outcomes. The treatment plan is then personalised based on the individual clinical findings.
- Unexplained Infertility: In some couples, routine fertility investigations may not identify a specific cause of infertility. Depending on factors such as age, duration of infertility, previous treatment, and fertility assessment, options such as ovulation induction, IUI, or IVF may be considered.
